Hello there! I am a graduate from a Business and Accountancy degree, now in training for my full Accountancy qualification (ACCA) within a Finance Department of a well known High Street Retailer. With the aim of becoming an Accountancy Teacher/Lecturer in the future, I want to build on my tutoring experience.

That’s where you come in! During college, I helped a number of other students through their Mathematics exams. It began with just a friend who had failed her Maths GCSE, and really needed a pass. She sat down with me one lunch, really saddened by the fact that she needed the pass for her newly chosen career path. And according to her, nothing Mr Smith told her made any sense.

So I told her to pick a topic. Within an hour, she was smiling at her Maths paper, and I still remember that moment Over time, her friends, my friends and even a few people I had never met starting asking for help, ranging from students just struggling with a particular topic, to people who hated maths vehemently.

At each results day for a few years, I genuinely cared as much about those students Maths results as much as my own exam results. And let me put it this way, I never had one disappointment on any ResuIts Day!

Nowadays, having completed a Mathematics-based degree and now working in a Finance Department, I dont find many people in my travels who need help to pass their Maths exams. But I miss it thoroughly, and that is the reason I have a profile here. I might also add, that I have talked exclusively of tutoring in Maths, primarily as I know that the subject can be one of the hardest for children and adults everywhere. However, I would of course be happy to teach on the Accountancy/Finance/Business line, all the way up to degree level, so if you or your child really wants that route like me, Im sure I could help in numerous ways. Please note that I do not have the DBS check that I understand many parents would prefer a private Tutor to have.

It is certainly in the pipeline so please bear with me on that front. In the meantime, if the lack of that check is problematic, you can always have a chat with my mum. She will be able to tell you a vast amount more than that bit of paper will! So there you have it. My summation of my tutoring story so far. Im just a regular guy with the gift of Maths and an unyielding passion for my student’s success, whatever their level of understanding.
